Important Notice

Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. All associated data including academic records, attendance, and reports will be removed. Please read through this page before submitting a deletion request.

1 Who Can Request Deletion

Deletion requests can be submitted by the following account types registered on the Vidhyarthika platform:

School Admin

Can request full school account deletion

Teacher

Can request removal of their individual profile

Student / Parent

Can request deletion of student or parent profile

Staff

Can request removal of their staff profile

2 What Data Gets Deleted

Upon a confirmed deletion request, the following data will be permanently removed from our systems:

  • Login credentials and account authentication data
  • Personal profile information (name, contact, address)
  • Academic records, marks, and grade history linked to your personal identity
  • Attendance records and activity logs
  • Fee payment records personally linked to the account (see retention note below for legally mandated records)
  • Homework submissions, notices, and communications
  • App usage data and session history

Note on institutional records: Some class-level or school-wide records (such as aggregate attendance totals or school reports) may be retained by the school admin as required by their institution. In such cases, your personal identity will be anonymised or separated from those records so they can no longer be linked back to you.

3 What May Be Retained

In limited circumstances, certain data may be retained for a period required by law or contractual obligation:

  • Anonymised, aggregated usage statistics (no personal identifiers)
  • Financial transaction records required for statutory auditing purposes — as mandated by Indian tax and accounting regulations (e.g. GST Act). These records are retained for the legally required period and are inaccessible to app users after deletion.
  • Deletion request logs (for compliance verification only — not used for any other purpose)

4 How to Submit a Deletion Request

Users can request account deletion via email as described below. If an in-app deletion option is available in your version of the app, you may also initiate it directly from the account settings screen.

Follow these steps to submit a deletion request by email:

Compose an email

Open your email client and address it to vidhyarthika@gmail.com

Use the subject line

Account Deletion Request – [Your Name / School Name]

Include the following details in your email

  • Full name and registered mobile number
  • School name and your role (Admin / Teacher / Student / Parent / Staff)
  • Registered email address used for the Vidhyarthika account
  • Reason for deletion (optional but helpful)

We will confirm and process

You will receive a confirmation email within 2 business days. Your data will be fully deleted within 7–30 days of confirmation.
